Snowed In!

This weekend we had our first snow falls!  It started on Friday night, just pretty snow, but not enough to stick.  Saturday evening is when the real snow came.  We watched from our windows for hours as it quickly covered the grass, then moved onto the streets.  We also watched as people attempted to get their cars up their driveways…one made it, one didn’t.  It continued to snow through the night, so when we woke up on Sunday morning, we woke up to 3 or so inches of undisturbed snow.  What’s there to do but disturb it?  So, I bundled up and ran outside with my camera, and Tim followed me after a little convincing.  We walked down the street, snapping pictures of our gingerbread house like neighborhood, to the main street we connect with and determined it had indeed turned into an ice skating rink, so we wouldn’t be going to church.  By this time, we were pretty frozen, because it was around 20 degrees, so we came back inside, ate eggs and sausage,  and started a game day!  We played some Mario Kart Wii first, (I beat Tim…ah yeah) then moved on to Carcassone with Tim and his mom, while drinking hot stuff.  I had apple cider, Tim had Chai Tea, and his mom had vanilla tea.  The wind was reaaally blowing, so it looked like a blizzard, cause it picked up all the loose snow.  Once Tim creamed us we ate some lunch, baked potatoes smothered in chili and nacho cheese with bacon (healthy, huh?) we started a game of Risk, and his dad joined us.  I was holding down Africa quite well until Tim’s dad turned in his cards and gained 35 armies.  Then I was quickly obliterated, so after another hour or so of watching the others duke it out, I excused myself to go upstairs and work on a scrapbook I’ve been hired to do by a co-worker.  The day concluded by watching the Survivor finale (Yay Bob!) and wondering if we’d be going to work tomorrow.  Maybe not exciting, but it was nice and restful and fun for me.
